More than Democrat or Republican
WatchBlog: Political News, Opinion and Commentary
Even when I used to spend a considerable amount of time reading the bible, I used a parallel one that showed (verse by verse) several different translations side by side. It helped.
This is a great idea – wish they’d pick it up on network television and cable. There are three columns of news, each aligned with a perceived political affiliation. On the left, blue – for Democrats and Liberals. In the middle, which I don’t think is really the “middle, but how else would you do it – the color is green. Nope, not green party, but third party and independents. On the far right (heh heh) in bright red, the news is for Republicans and Conservatives.
When news hits all three columns, you can watch them duke out the spin.
As a reading experience, it is almost transcendental but not quite reflexive.
As a side note, I would like to thank those conservatives who did not spin with the meister over the last week. It’s a good time to re-assess the agenda – let’s evaluate the total costs again – in lives, in bankruptcy, in money, in social injustice – all the costs of the last 5 years. Is it still worth it to you? Start telling your base what’s really going on – repent means “turn around.” You could be the start of the new republicans, not the neo-cons but the Grand New Party, the Millenium Redesign. At this point, I’d even welcome that.
It’s not a matter of Republican and Democrat anymore; it’s actually much worse than that. The party “signs” and “emblems” and “affiliations” act as decoys to keep us fighting amongst ourselves. The politicians among you that might actually be worth something need to work together and represent us – the people, all the people – now.
If you speak directly to the American people, you will be heard. You won’t need that blood money for your election fund.
