Yes, between the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial.

No, like any president, he has made a few missteps, but nothing approaching “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

No, the man has done absolutely nothing wrong. Impeachment would just be a political lynching.

  1. You know where my opinion is on this poll. I don’t see any reason for the Impeachment of President Bush and until it is proven that anything Bush has done is criminal he doesn’t deserve Impeachment. All I see is the Democrats and MSM continuing their character assination that they started since the 2000 election.

  2. Well, there are certainly enough behaviors to justify the investigation. Character assassination is more the style of Rove’s whisper campaigns and slander like the “swift boat” nonsense. When you have illegal use of weapons on civilians, abuse of executive powers, lying to Congress (not just about the war, but what he would do with these powers granted him – use them as a last resort after going back to the UN and exhausting the inspections), trespass of the law and of the civil rights of the American people, I think it’s pretty safe to talk about actual actions, not some amorphous view of character. What these say about his character (and probably it’s more about Cheney anyway – don’t forget his role in 9/11) is self-evident, but a bit beside the point. The USA will not give up its democracy, no matter how much admiration Bush Co. seems to have for dictators around the world. We will not allow a King in this country.

  3. Carl Rove has nothing to do with whether President Bush should be Impeached. The incident that has Carl Rove being investigated wasn’t even illegal and besides Rove hasn’t been indicted as of yet. The swiftboat vets wasn’t nonsnse, they were there in Vietnam at the same time Kerry was. Illegal use of weaspons on civilians? Lying to Congress? I don’t know where you are getting this from, but until it is proven that the authorization wasn’t legal it isn’t illegal.

  4. I was referring to Rove’s methods – character assassination, and making a distinction between that and criticizing actions by this administration that are unamerican and illegal.

The swiftboat claims have been proven false on numerous occasions.

Illegal and excessive use of weapons – targeting civilian infrastructure and civilians themselves. Levelling of Fallujah, white phosophorus, etc.

Lying to Congress – cherrypicking evidence, Downing Memos, refusing to give info for the Senate investigation, etc.

    Pay attention. You’ll see.

  5. Thank you for elaborating on all of those points, none of which can lead to Impeachment of a sitting President, but they do however explain your opinions much clearer.

You see I don’t believe President George W. Bush did anything illegal with the war in Iraq or anything surrounding the War in Iraq and unless Congress drums something up it won’t happen. I don’t believe he did anything illegal with authorizing the wiretaps on international call made from within the USA and unless Congress drums up charges that the authorization was illegal from Bush to make he has done nithing wrong.

The Swift Boat situation was a Presidential Campaign deal and it was their right to speak their opinions since they were there and none of us were. Some may have been said to be false, but proven is a different story. There are always two sides to the story and we are left to reconcile in our own minds the truth as we see.

Once again, I want to thank you for your very candid views of our president and for giving me an opportunity to speak my peace about him him.

I wish you the best in the coming new year and I look forward to discussing more with you.
